Client Engagements: Visiting Nurse Association

The Visiting Nurse Association provides home healthcare services and is headquartered in Red Bank N.J. DTS was contacted in 1999 by the VNA with a severe network performance problem: An intermittent I.T. communication failure was preventing nurses at remote office locations from transmitting patient information to the company’s main application database. This outage restricted the billing of services to Medicaid and Medicare and completely disrupted revenue flow for the organization for many months. Nortel Engineers were called in to analyze the legacy network and could not correctly diagnose the problem. DTS was contacted to provide an independent network audit and resolved the communication issue in a week. The VNA then engaged in contract for long term support from the DTS Engineer Services Group to assist with the management of back end infrastructure components.

In 2003 DTS completely replaced the VNA backbone with a Cisco platform to support all locations and approximately 500 end users. Additionally DTS relocated the entire backbone of the company in 2005 to a newly constructed building and data center on its Red Bank property. DTS prides itself on this long standing relationship with a fast growing non for profit organization and is engaged in contract to support the back end infrastructure and provide 24x7 system monitoring.
